We had been traveling through the Netherlands, and as an avid bicycler myself, I became obsessed with taking pictures of their most popular mode of transportation: the bicycle. They were everywhere and came in such a wide variety! As we traveled to Bruges, Belgium, a city just near the border of the Netherlands, I spotted this beautiful windmill. I stood towards the middle of the road, hoping no one would run me over, photographing all of the bicycles that zoomed by until I was able to get a photo of this lovely older woman towards the center of the composition and the windmill in a nice even cross. The sky had been a solid blue throughout the whole trip, but I was lucky that some nice puffy clouds showed up that day to add visual interest.
